Procurement in uncertain times: MTC-dagen 2025 at SSE

Yesterday, the Stockholm School of Economics hosted this year's MTC-dagen - an annual event focused on current and important topics in procurement. This year's theme was highly relevant: how procurement is affected by today's new security challenges.

Speakers from both the public and private sectors joined researchers to discuss how supply chains are changing in response to global uncertainty and geopolitical risks. The program included insights on legislation, organizational challenges, and how to balance resilience and sustainability in procurement.

Representatives from the Swedish Armed Forces, the National Agency for Public Procurement, the Swedish Transport Administration, FMV, Ahlsell, Scania, and Svenskt Näringsliv participated, alongside researchers from the Stockholm School of Economics and .

Researchers, including Katarina Arbin from the and SSE, contributed insights on how procurement organizations can navigate increased demands for preparedness and long-term resilience.

The event concluded with a panel discussion led by Sven Anders Stegare, bringing together voices from both the private and public sectors to reflect on how procurement strategies are evolving in light of the current security environment. Panelists included Karolina Hagberg Chinell (Ahlsell), Daniel Ljunglund (Swedish Transport Administration), Linda Lundkvist (Swedish Armed Forces), Jonas Lotsne (FMV), and Hans-Otto Heijne (Scania).
