Clearing the path to recovery: The economics of humanitarian demining and Ukraine’s reconstruction

Join the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) for a half-day event exploring how humanitarian demining lays the groundwork for Ukraine’s sustainable recovery and long-term stability. This high-level gathering will spotlight the intersection of economics, reconstruction, and international cooperation in post-war Ukraine.

The Swedish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce in Scandinavia (SUCC) and the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE), with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden, warmly invite invited guests to a timely and engaging event on October 15, 2025, at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Please note that this event is by invitation only and not open to the public.

Clearing the Path to Recovery will highlight the urgent need for humanitarian demining as a prerequisite for Ukraine’s reconstruction. The event will also mark the presentation of the Global Alliance for Peace and Development  (), a Ukrainian non-profit initiative dedicated to humanitarian demining, psychological support and reintegration, environmental restoration, professional training through an international demining school, and building strong international partnerships.

Through a series of presentations and discussions, the program will cover:

  • Current demining efforts and international best practices
  • An introduction to GAPD’s mission and operational approach
  • The economic, social, and environmental implications of demining
  • Opportunities for cross-sectoral collaboration and international business engagement

Bringing together leading experts, policymakers, and international partners, this event aims to foster dialogue and action on one of the most critical building blocks of Ukraine’s recovery process.

Registration by invitation only

Admission to this event at SSE is by invitation only. The full program will be available for registered guests only.
