Mariassunta Giannetti (SHoF/SSE) has been elected to the Board of the American Finance Association for the 2026–2029 term.
Mariassunta Giannetti, Professor of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics and researcher at the Swedish House of Finance, has been elected to the . Her term began on January 6.
Professor Giannetti’s research focuses on corporate finance, international finance, and financial intermediation, with particular attention to how firms and financial institutions respond to economic shocks, regulation, and changes in financial markets. Her work has contributed to a better understanding of corporate decision-making, risk-taking, and the role of banks and capital markets in shaping firm behavior, and has been widely published in leading academic journals.
The American Finance Association is one of the world’s leading professional associations for researchers in finance. Founded in 1939, the AFA promotes research, education, and communication among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers, and is best known for organizing the annual AFA meetings and for publishing top academic journals in finance.
