New Directions in Leadership Research and Practice: November Workshop Highlights
The event opened with an inspiring keynote from (Nottingham Trent University), who invited us to rethink what happens around (and often despite) formal ‘leaders,’ drawing powerfully on
South African apartheid protest songs. Her talk set the tone for a day of thoughtful provocation and intellectual generosity.
We were further challenged by Professor Dan Kärreman (CBS) and (University of St Andrews), whose reflections on the current, and for many of us concerning, state of leadership studies and leadership development, as well as its future possibilities, sparked lively discussion and critical debate.
We extend our sincere thanks to all paper contributors, presenters and other participants for sharing their work and thoughts. As an outcome of the workshop, many new collaborations and small projects have already begun, strengthening ties within our growing community.
We hope this gathering marks the beginning of a vibrant, interdisciplinary conversation about our responsibilities as leadership scholars and educators. We look forward to continuing this dialogue—and to welcoming our colleagues back to Stockholm soon.
