Kristina Tamm Hallström Interviewed by the Swedish Public Radio

On the subject of old stores surviving against all odds in the modern city, Associate Professor Kristina Tamm Hallström was interviewed for the program "Förmiddag i P1".

Tamm Hallström is interviewed regarding her recently published study, (Stockholmia, 2025), together with Sofia Wiberg (KTH), one of the co-authors of the book. They discuss the reasons why these stores persist and what values they bring to a city and its streets. These values have remained neglected in the discourse both within politics and management of modern large-scale businesses. The stores are home to highly sophisticated knowledge within their respective sectors, and equally provide a home-away-from-home to a diverse group of patrons, who do not quite find themselves at ease or what they need in the ubiquitous chains of our cities.
