Circular economy and innovation: Opportunities for collaboration between Sweden & Russia

The Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics together with the Ministerial meetings of the Swedish-Russian Steering Committee, the Stockholm School of Economics, and The Russian Trade Representation in Sweden, will host a high level panel discussion on “Circular Economy and Innovation” on Friday October 15, 2021.

In connection with the Ministerial meetings of the Swedish-Russian Steering Committee, Anna Hallberg, Swedish Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs and Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will introduce a discussion on Circular Economy and Innovation on Friday, October 15 at 14.00. The discussion will be moderated by Elin Bergman, COO, Vice President and spokesperson of the Swedish circular economy network Cradlenet.

Against the backdrop of two new working groups being established at the meeting of the Steering Committee, both the topic for the panel discussion, and the Stockholm School of Economics as the venue where it is staged, make this event an excellent extension to the Steering Committee program in Stockholm.

The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) has a long history of cooperating with Russia in the areas of higher education and research with its SSE Russia branch in St Petersburg and the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics’ close connections to some of the top research institutions in Russia. Furthermore, SSE is the home of the research center MISUM that focuses on sustainable development and works closely with the leading academic institutions in this area in Sweden and around the world.

The Association communicates with the legislative and executive authorities of Russia, expressing a consolidated position of members regarding legal, economic and statistical regulation.
