Lecture | Information warfare and business risk: A Strategic communication perspective
About the lecture
The boundary between information warfare and market risk has largely collapsed. Ransomware operations run on franchise models, disinformation campaigns are engineered to move prices and trigger regulatory exposure, and AI-generated fraud is outpacing the verification systems designed to catch it.
What this demands from business leadership is still being worked out. Neither purely technical responses, such as stronger firewalls or faster patching, nor purely communicative ones, such as crisis PR or media monitoring, have proven sufficient on their own. The threats are hybrid, and the responses must be as well.
In this lecture, Mary Prokhorova will present a framework for understanding these risks from an industry perspective, grounded in Nordic regulatory norms and the evolving EU digital landscape.
