Epiroc joins SSE Corporate Partnership Program to strengthen industry links
Epiroc, a leading Swedish provider of equipment, services and solutions for the global mining and infrastructure industries, employs around 19,000 people and has customers in around 150 countries. Through its partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), Epiroc aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application. As industries undergo rapid change driven by digitalization, sustainability, and automation, access to practical experience becomes increasingly important for students preparing for their careers.
“We are proud to enter into a partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics, an environment that shapes the leaders and decision‑makers of tomorrow. For Epiroc, this collaboration is an opportunity to both contribute to and benefit from the school’s research, talent, and forward‑thinking approach. We aim to give students real insights from a global industrial company undergoing rapid transformation, while strengthening our own development through their perspectives. Together, we can build knowledge that makes our company, as well as the mining and infrastructure industries, even more innovative and competitive,“ says Karin Larsson, VP Investor Relations & Media at Epiroc.
She adds that the company will share data, insights, and real challenges with students. “With a 150‑year Swedish industrial legacy and a global role in advancing the mining and infrastructure industries, Epiroc is excited to share real‑world insights, data, and challenges with SSE students. By opening up our operations and strong culture of innovation and sustainability, we hope to contribute meaningful learning experiences and help equip future leaders with the skills to drive high‑impact transformation worldwide.”
A partnership shaped by industrial transformation
SSE works closely with industry to help students understand how businesses respond to economic and technological change. The partnership with Epiroc brings these insights into sectors that are central to the global economy, where companies must balance productivity, safety, and sustainability while adapting to electrification, automation, and digitalization.
Karin Larsson also highlights how these shifts are shaping Epiroc’s work: “Our industry is shaped by strong demand for higher productivity, safety and lower operating costs, driven by deeper mines, declining ore grades and a global shift toward more sustainable operations. At the same time, electrification, automation and digitalization continue to accelerate as customers seek solutions that reduce emissions and enhance efficiency. These structural trends support long‑term demand for Epiroc’s technologies and strengthen our role as a leading productivity and sustainability partner.”
“Epiroc’s engagement has long enriched the SSE community, and we are very pleased to welcome them as a Partner,” says Professor Lars Strannegård, President at the Stockholm School of Economics. “Their global expertise and focus on innovation and sustainability bring valuable perspectives to our students and faculty.”
